Toll roads are rare, but there are a couple

Vehicle laws:

Speed limit on motorways is 130 kph on motorways, 100 kph on dual carriageways, 90 kph on maid roads and 50 kph in built up areas

When you leave Romania, you may be taxed on the remaining petrol / diesel in your tank

Dipped headlights during the day are compulsory outside of built up areas

First aid kit, fire extinguisher, warning triangle and reflective jackets are compulsory

It's against the law to drive a dirty car!

Petrol cans must be empty when leaving Romania

Winter tyres are compulsory between 1 November and 31 March
