Romance in Riga (February 11, 2017)

Riga is a beautiful city and the surrounding countryside, whilst very flat, is lovely (well, certainly in the direction of Sigulda). The food is hearty and wholesome and the people very friendly and welcoming (and also very forgiving if you stumble over their language!)

There are no toll roads in Latvia
Dual carriageway speed limit is 100 kph, main roads is 90 kph, built up areas are 50 kph and residential areas are 20 kph
First aid kit, reflective clothing, fire extinguisher and a warning triangle are all compulsory items
Dipped headlights during the day are compulsory
Winter tyres are compulsory between 1 December and 1 March
This is likely to be illegal but is likely to be tolerated out of when campsites are closed.
